APD: Car fire shuts down upper deck on I-35

AUSTIN, Texas - The upper deck of I-35 was shut down during rush hour on Thursday afternoon after a car caught on fire. 

First responders with the Austin Police Department and Austin Fire Department were diverting traffic on northbound I-35, near Dean Keeton Street, to the lower deck, according to APD. Drivers were being asked to avoid the area and to use alternate routes.
