APD officer hit while directing traffic for ACL

A police officer with the Austin Police Department was struck and hit by a car while directing traffic for the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Sunday, October 14, 2018. 

According to police, the officer was working the intersection of Bee Caves Road and one of the frontage roads for Mopac when the incident happened just before 9 p.m. The driver  had went around a barrel and hit the officer with a vehicle. 

The officer was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center at The University of Texas with minor injuries.

The driver who hit the officer stayed at the scene, according to police.

Police couldn't confirm immediately if the driver will face charges.
