Body of missing Kyle man found in Blanco River

SAN MARCOS, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The body of 32-year-old Omar Maya-Rangel was found in the Blanco River on Saturday afternoon, according to San Marcos police.
Maya-Rangel had been missing since Dec. 28, 2018. His car was then located on Dec. 31 in Caldwell County along with personal belongings of his.
On Saturday, emergency crews responded to the 1800 block of River Road after a report of a body in the river discovered by a hiker.
Responders recovered the body and Maya-Rangel was pronounced dead at the scene, according to San Marcos police. An autopsy is pending by the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office and an investigation is ongoing.
