Brothers arrested in connection to San Marcos homicide

Two people have been arrested in connection to the death of 27-year-old Matthew Jacob Rodriguez, Jr., who was found dead in San Marcos early Tuesday morning.
Police said they received a call regarding an unresponsive person lying in the parking lot of Park North Condos just before 2:30 a.m. When police arrived they found Rodriguez deceased with a gunshot wound.
Jacob and Jason Portier, who are brothers, were arrested on Thursday. Police say the two are familiar with the San Marcos area, but most recently were living in Round Rock.
This was the first homicide in San Marcos this year. The investigation is still ongoing.
