EXCLUSIVE: Southwest Key protester speaks with FOX 7
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - One woman's protest lasted about eight hours on Wednesday.
According to the Austin Police Department, Patricia Okoumou climbed up the staircase to the third floor then scaled the fence onto the roof. From there, she hung out on a steel beam chanting "free the children" and "let them go." Police, firefighters, and ATCEMS talked to her from the ground, roof and a fire department ladder trying to get her to come down safely.
Patricia Okoumou along with her attorney, George Lobb, joined Rebecca Thomas and Mike Warren in the FOX 7 Austin studio on Thursday to talk more about why she singled out the Southwest Keys program and the charges she is now facing for her protest.
