Murder suspect in fatal East Austin shooting arrested

Update: The murder suspect,  Waymon "Keith" Eason Sr., was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force Monday afternoon. 


Austin police are searching for a suspect in an East Austin fatal shooting that left one woman dead on Sunday evening. 

911 received several calls of shots fired in the 5300 block of Wellington Drive around 5 p.m. Austin Fire arrived on scene and found 50-year-old Ronda Beans. EMS transported her to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. 

Police believe the shooting may be a result of ongoing domestic violence between the victim and the suspect, Waymon "Keith" Eason Sr.

The Austin Police Department Homicide Unit has issued a murder warrant for Eason and set his bond at $1 million. Anyone with information of the suspect's whereabouts is urged to call 911. He is considered armed and dangerous and shouldn't be approached. 

Police say  the suspect goes by his middle name Keith and is described as a 49-year-old African-American male with brown eyes. He is about 5'7'' and 185 pounds who is balding.

A reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to Eason's capture is being offered.
