Severe weather possible in parts of Central Texas

A powerful West Coast storm system continues to approach Central Texas.

It's likely to kick off a few scattered showers through Wednesday afternoon but it's Wednesday night into Thursday morning that the Austin area will see its greatest severe weather threat of the Spring season.

Early Wednesday morning the Storm Prediction Center has placed most of the area under an Enhanced Risks for Severe Weather.

The primary threats will be potentially damaging winds and large hail. With that said...any severe thunderstorm has the potential to drop a tornado, though the threat should remain on the low side.
