Utility crews discover skeletal remains in New Braunfels
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Human skeletal remains were discovered in New Braunfels on Tuesday afternoon, according to the New Braunfels Police Department.
NBPD says utility crews were working near FM 1044 and Green Valley Road when they came across an item that appeared to be skeletal remains around 3:45 p.m.. The crews immediately contacted police.
Initial forensic analysis showed the remains were that of an adult human, according to police. Additional details about the remains require further forensic analysis, police say.
There will be a continued police presence in the area as the search for additional remains continues, according to NBPD. Green Valley Road between FM 1044 and Ron Road will be closed most of Wednesday.
