Woman who lied about assault will be charged
Charges will be filed against the woman who faslely accused a Cedar Park man of assaulting her, according to Bell County Attorney Jim Nicohls. Nicohls has instructed the Temple Police Department to arrest her for filing a false report.
Last year, 21-year-old Christopher James Precopia was arrested after his ex-girlfriend told police he broke into her house, punched her in the face, and slashed her with a box cutter. He faced three charges and if found guilty, Precopia could have been sentenced to life in prison.
Precopia told his lawyer and officers with the Temple Police Department that he was at the Austin Renaissance Hotel on the night of the alleged attack. As proof, his mother provided a time-stamped geo-located selfie they took at the hotel just twenty minutes before his accuser says he broke into her home in Temple - 70 miles away from where he was.
Those charges were eventually dropped due to his alibi.
However, Precopia is still fighting to get his record expunged.
