UNT faculty members sign letter against bringing Donald Trump, Jr. to campus

More than 80 University of Texas faculty members have signed a letter that's against bringing Donald Trump, Jr. to campus as part of a donor sponsored lecture series.

The letter asks that administrators rescind the invitation to President Donald Trump's oldest son. The open letter says the invitation shows disrespect for women, people of color and the LGBTQ community.

Donald Trump, Jr. is scheduled to speak October 24th and will be paid $100,000 from private donations.

A spokeswoman for the university says the school welcomes speakers with a variety of viewpoints.
