Additional suspect arrested in murder-for-hire plot

Travis County Sheriff's deputies arrested a third suspect connected to the murder-for-hire death of an Austin jeweler. 21-year-old Johnny Ramon Leon is charged with criminal solicitation of capital murder for his alleged involvement in the case.
The arrest took place early Wednesday morning in College Station.
Right now, it's not certain if anyone else is involved.
Travis County Sheriff Sally Hernandez gave an update on the case Wednesday. "I want to first extend my deepest condolences to the Shaughnessy family for the loss of Theodore Shaughnessy," said Sheriff Hernandez. The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is working with DPS, US Marshals, College Station police, and the Travis County District Attorney’s Office. "Our investigation revealed that Mr. Leon was involved with Nicholas Shaughnessy in the planning and execution of the incident that occurred on march the 2nd of 2018," said Hernandez.
This marks the third arrest in the case.
In March of this year, Corey Shaughnessy called 911 and reported someone broke into their home. When deputies arrived they found Theodore Shaughnessy, her husband, dead with multiple gunshot wounds. In May, the son, Nicolas Shaughnessy, and his wife, Jaclyn Edison, were arrested and accused of conspiring together.
Police say they hired a hitman to kill Shaughnessy’s parents.

After combing through hours of surveillance video at Nicholas Shaughnessy’s home they were able to link Leon to the case. "Went through each and every one of them and though there were many people that came in and out (of his house) they followed up on each one of those people that were in those security videos," said Hernandez.
This is still an ongoing investigation. Sheriff Hernandez did not say specifically what role Leon may have played. At this time, they are conducting search warrants and interviews.
