AFD responds to large gas leak in West Campus

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Fire Department responded to a large gas leak in West Campus Tuesday afternoon.
AFD said the special operations units were on scene of a large gas leak at 23rd and San Gabriel. Texas Gas was also on the scene helping AFD.
People who lived nearby were being asked to avoid the area.
Around 3:36 p.m., AFD said people who lived or worked nearby the leak could expect to smell the odor of gas for the next couple of hours.
No other information was released.
