Amazing video shows great white shark breaking into cage with diver inside
GUADALUPE ISLAND, Mexico - Amazing video shows a great white shark breaking a cage with a diver inside off the Pacific coast of Mexico.
The video was posted to YouTube by "Gabe and Garrett" on October 13th.
They explained that the shark was biting large chunks of tuna tied to a rope on the cage and that the shark accidentally hit the side of the cage.
Because sharks cannot swim backwards, they believe it lunged forward and broke into the cage. A crew member opened the top of the cage and the shark popped out, thrashed around and eventually swam away.
A diver was inside the cage the entire time.
"He ended up outside the bottom of the cage, looking down on two great white sharks. The diver is a very experienced dive instructor, remained calm, and when the shark thrashed back outside the cage, the diver calmly swam back up and climbed out completely uninjured," they explained.
While some people may find this incident frightening, Gabe and Garrett say they can't wait to return for another shark adventure next year.
