AMBER Alert ends after missing Louisiana child found safe
ALLEN, Texas - A missing Louisiana girl was found safe in North Texas.
What's new:
Allen police located 13-year-old Merlin Chirinos-Argueta hours after an AMBER Alert was issued for her.
A teenage suspect, 18-year-old Daniel Osman Vasquez Mejia was also arrested and charged with harboring a runaway.
Police are still working to return the girl to her family.
The backstory:
Chirinos-Argueta was reported missing out of Keithville, Louisiana, which is south of Shreveport.
Police issued an AMBER Alert after receiving tips that she may be in the Allen area with Mejia, who was driving a white Chevy Suburban with the license plate VML6061
Anyone with information was asked to contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, or call 911.
