Another cold blast creeps into Central Texas
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Another blast of very cold air will soon be arriving in Central Texas.
Afternoon temperatures were close to 80° earlier this week, and will be closer to 40° by Friday.
While there may be some spotty light rain on Friday, it won’t be much, HOWEVER, even though afternoon temperatures will likely be above freezing, the air above the surface will be lower than 32°. A few sleet pellets or even snowflakes could hang around long enough to make it to the ground.
If they do, they likely would not last very long, and no accumulations or slick roads are expected with this activity. The cold air will stick around through Saturday, and then warmer weather (and some more showers) will return starting Sunday.
