APD asks for help in identifying victim

The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a victim was who found with a fatal gunshot wound on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in North Austin. 

The victim is described as a Hispanice male in his thirties. 

It is believed that he possibly went by the name of Chato.

According to police, dispatch received a call shortly before 3 p.m. about a man that was found lying in the fourth floor hallway of the WoodSpring Suites at 11105 North I-35. When first responders arrived on scene, they attempted life-saving measures. 

The victim was unable to be saved and died from his injuries. 

According to the Austin Police Department, it is believed that the victim was targeted for a specific reason. However, there are no indications of public threat in relation to this incident.
