APD holds press conference after Austin home invasion leaves two dead, one injured

The Austin Police Department is updating the public after a home invasion in northeast Austin left two dead and one injured. 

The Austin Police Department is updating the public after a home invasion in northeast Austin left two dead and one injured. 

Police said they responded to a call about a shooting at the Creekside Apartments in the 5400 block of East Parmer Lane around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18. APD Officer Bino Cadenas said when police arrived they found one woman with obvious trauma to her body, another person with obvious trauma to their body and a third person injured. Detectives investigated multiple scenes throughout the complex.

Three shot by resident while trying to rob North Austin apartment

The Austin Police Department is investigating a deadly home invasion in northeast Austin. Three people tried breaking into an apartment but were shot by the person who lives there.

 Residents were evacuated while others were told to take shelter.

The investigation is ongoing. Police have not confirmed at this time whether the suspects and the tenants in the deadly shooting knew one another.
