APD investigating homicide in southeast Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide in Southeast Austin.

Police said on Oct. 24, around 5:06 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of River Plantation Dr. and Mickelson Dr. A caller said someone was seriously injured.

When officers arrived, they found a person with injuries all over the body. Officers performed life-saving measures, but the person later died from their injuries.

Homicide detectives are investigating. A person of interest has been detained, police said.

This is an isolated incident.
