APD: Suspect in custody following SWAT standoff in South Austin
AUSTIN, Texas - A suspect is in custody following a SWAT standoff on Tuesday.
Officers with the Austin Police Department responded to the SWAT call in southeast Austin around 11:19 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28. The SWAT standoff ended around 2 p.m. the same day. It is not known at this time what led to the SWAT situation.
Police officers with APD closed Wagon Crossing Path to traffic during the SWAT standoff. Traffic was also blocked at Wagon Bend Trail, Broken Spoke Trail, and Dove Springs Drive. The roads are expected to slowly reopen as the scene clears.
The Austin Police Department is planning on holding a press conference at 2:45 p.m.
