AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Austin police are searching for suspects they say shot and killed a man and injured two others at a bar on N. Lamar Boulevard early Sunday morning.
Austin 911 received a shots fired call in the parking lot of La Preferida Bar in the 10200 block of N. Lamar Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Police and paramedics arrives and found three Hispanic men who had gunshot wounds.
Julio Cesar Gamez-Contreras, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene and the two other victims were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries.
Austin Homicide detectives learned from witnesses a fight had broken out inside the bar between the victims and several Hispanic male suspects, says a release from APD. The fight continued into the parking lot where Gamez-Contreras and the two other victims were shot.
The suspects left the scene in a white Cadillac Escalade truck with chrome wheels.
The Travis County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide. Detectives are asking anyone with video or information to call the police.
