APD to keep majority of overtime staffing despite SXSW cancelation
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department says that despite SXSW being canceled, they plan to keep a majority of overtime staffing.
APD says they are aware of several unofficial SXSW events happening and that Austin will still see an influx of visitors despite the cancelation of the annual event due to concerns about the coronavirus. APD says, for this reason, they will keep a majority of the overtime staffing they planned for SXSW and security will not be decreased in the area.
