ATCEMS: Teenager transported after falling off a cliff
AUSTIN, Texas - A woman has been transported with potentially serious, not expected to be life-threatening, injuries after falling off a cliff near the 360 Bridge, according to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services.
The teen had been hiking with her dog when the canine companion slipped down the cliff.
The teen went to help her dog and lost her footing and fell, according to the Austin Fire Department.
First responders with ATCEMS were called out to the 5400 block of Courtyard Drive around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 26. When first responders arrived on scene, they made contact with a female patient in her late teens who sustained traumatic injuries.
The teenager was found on the side of a steep hill, near the water.
First responders moved her to the water's edge using a rope system, according to ATCEMS. She was then moved on to a rescue boat so she could be taken to a more accessible area for STARFlight. She was transported by STARFlight to Dell Seton Medical Center.
