Austin Animal Center at critical capacity, in need of adopters and fosters
AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - The Austin Animal Center has reached critical capacity and is in desperate need of fosters and adopters for medium and large dogs.
The shelter says they have taken in close to 100 animals just in the last two days and are running out of space to house them.
In hopes of creating more space for animals, the shelter converted a conference room into a kennel. However, the space is no longer enough.
AAC says the adoption fees are $75 and include spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccines, a microchip and an ID tag.
Anyone interested in fostering or adopting can visit the shelter at 7201 Levander Loop. It's open between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.. Available animals can also be viewed online at austinanimalcenter.org.
