Austin Disaster Relief Network launches fundraising campaign for those impacted by COVID-19

The Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) has started a fund to help those in Greater Austin who've lost jobs and income due to the coronavirus.

The COVID-19 Relief Fund is being launched to help support individuals and families in need of emergency funds to cover costs associated with food and gas as well as other essential items as additional funds are raised.

"Families are truly struggling," ADRN's Executive Director Daniel Geraci said in a news release. "While our network of churches and volunteers are responding to the emotional and spiritual needs of those impacted we're asking Austinites to support their neighbors by making a financial contribution to our COVID-19 Relief Fund."

Donations can be made at https://donate.adrn.org/covidrelief.

The fund isn't the only thing that ADRN is doing to help those feeling the effects of the coronavirus.

The organization launched a drive aimed at collecting more than 20,000 homemade face masks. The face masks will be distributed by the City of Austin and the Capital Area Medical Operations Center to care givers and essential personnel throughout the City of Austin, Travis County and the 11 counties under the Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council (CATRAC).

ADRN has also set up a hotline for those who are facing emotional difficulties. Those who call will be able to talk to someone about any problems they may be having and also get a chance to pray to help put their mind at ease.
