Austin ISD has announced that they will be providing support to all families in their district through the Support Specialists Program.

AISD will have 18 parent support specialists, three part-time family support coordinators, and once social service specials that they say will "be available to engage and support families."

The program will run through July 31 and will offer these services:

  • Connect families in need with internal and external resources
  • Provide and coordinate educational opportunities for parents and guardians so that they can assist their child in summer learning.
  • Conduct information sharing events to enhance understanding of the district's re-opening school plans.
  • Communicatie with and engage families in multiple ways to keep them informed of district activities

Families who are interested in connecting with a Parent Support Specialist may contact Jennifer Vasquez in the Parent Engagement Support Office.
