Austin Mayor asks for welcome kits for Harvey evacuees

Austin Mayor Steve Adler is asking for residents of Austin to create welcome kits for Harvey evacuees.

The Austin Disaster Relief Network needs 5,000 to 6,000 welcome kits to distribute to shelter occupants. The Austin Animal Center needs supplies for lost animals and pets of people in shelter as well.

The mayor is also asking for interpreters to sign up online to help with non-English speaking evacuees.
