Austin Pets Alive! braces for possible flooding

Officials are keeping a close eye on Lady Bird Lake with one of the major concerns being that it will go over its banks and flood Cesar Chavez. Austin Pets Alive! sits on a low lying area near there and is bracing for possible flooding.

The organization says it's aware of the situation about the possibility of four new floodgates being opened and staff says it will affect them but they're not sure how just yet.

In preparation, APA is asking for the public to help foster some of its animals to get them away from the shelter.
