AUSTIN, Texas - Austin Pets Alive! says it will be reopening its thrift store locations in conjunction with Gov. Greg Abbott's executive order reopening some businesses this week.
APA says all three stores will re-open on May 1 with the following measures in place:
- Only 15 customers will be allowed inside the store(s) at a time
- Customers and staff are required to wear face masks or coverings
- All customers must maintain a six-foot distance from other shoppers
- Credit cards are the preferred method of payment
APA! says that they are also ceasing donations for the time being. They began re-accepting donations last week and had to modify their dropoff schedule after only two days.

The organization says the decision is to make sure they can reopen the thrift stores in a timely manner. APA! does say they will begin accepting donations again next Monday.
APA! also says they are no longer offering their online thrift shopping options as they return to their physical stores. The three APA! locations on Burnet Road, W. Oltorf Street, and Clarkson Avenue will be open every day from 12-6 p.m.
