Austin police asking for help in identifying aggravated assault suspect
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the suspect in an aggravated assault that happened on January 10.
The incident occurred at the Elm Ridge Apartments located at 1190 Airport Boulevard at around 11:36 p.m.
Police say that a person knocked on the door of an apartment and a child inside was the first to respond and ask who was there.
An adult female came to the door, asked who was there and was shot through the door. The suspect fled the scene.
Police say there were multiple children near the door when the shooting occurred.
The victim was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
There is footage from the complex and police say it shows many people in the parking lot at the time of the shooting. Police are hoping anyone who was there and may have seen something will come forward and help.
