Austin Police arrested a man after they found his wife dead in their Del Valle home Thursday evening. APD said they received a tip from Jose Israel Amaya’s friend stating he killed his wife.
Authorities contacted Patricia Campos’ employer who said she hadn’t been to work in two days. The homicide unit was alerted and the SWAT team arrived at their home at the Oak Ranch Mobile Home Community and saw Campos’ and Amaya’s cars in the driveway. APD said Amaya came out of the home shortly and was detained. EMS and officers found Campos’ dead inside.
Neighbors told FOX 7 Austin the couple was quiet and kept to themselves. Amaya has been charged with murder. An autopsy is being performed by the Travis Medical Examiner’s Office to determine Campos’ cause of death.
