APD investigating homicide near convenience store

Austin police are investigating a homicide that happened in the 1800 block of Rutland.

What we know:

AUSTIN - Around 6 a.m., officials with the Austin Police Department said they're investigating a homicide that happened in the 1800 block of Rutland Dr.

When officers arrived on scene, they found an injured man near a convenience store.

Austin-Travis County EMS took the man to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The Austin Police Department is investigating this incident as the city's 46th homicide of the year.

What we don't know:

No immediate word on a possible motive for the shooting and no suspect information has been released.
