Austin police investigating aggravated sexual assault in Northeast Austin

The Austin Police Department Sex Crimes Unit is asking for the public's help in investigating an aggravated sexual assault.

The assault is estimated to have happened between 2:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26.

APD says a woman was forced into an SUV at knifepoint while entering her apartment. The suspect then drove her to a location near the 7000 block of Grand Canyon Drive in Northeast Austin and sexually assaulted her. The woman was eventually released and called 9-1-1.

The suspect is described as: 

  • Dark-skinned black male
  • Approximately 5’9” with a slim build 
  • Clean-shaven with a flat-top style haircut
  • Unknown clothing
  • Spoke both English and Spanish 

The suspect vehicle is described as a possibly black, mid-90s, two-door Chevrolet Blazer.
