Austin police seek suspect in mail theft
Police are looking for a man they say stole mail from the front door of an apartment.
AUSTIN, Texas - Austin police are asking for the public's help identifying a man in connection with mail theft.
What we know:
Austin police said the incident happened around 2 p.m. on Jan. 23, 2025, at 308 ½ West Avenue.
The man was seen on a doorbell camera stealing a package from the front door of an apartment, police said.
The man is described as tall and thin, and was last seen wearing blue jeans, red Converse tennis shoes and a black "Circle the Drain" hoodie from the band "Wage War."
What we don't know:
Police are asking anyone with information to submit a tip through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program by using austincrimestoppers.org or calling 512-472-TIPS. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.
