Police investigate deadly incident in east Riverside

AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin Police Department is investigating a suspicious death in east Riverside.

Police say that around 9:20 a.m they received multiple 911 calls about gunshots heard at the Douglas Landing Apartment Homes located in the 2300 block of Douglas Street. 

There were also reports of a man lying on the ground near one of the apartment buildings.

Officers arrived and found the man, with obvious signs of trauma. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they are speaking with several witnesses, and they were told that there was a disturbance shortly before the incident at the same location. It's not clear if the disturbance is related to the man's death.

This is believed to be an isolated incident.
