Austin weather: Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center activated
AUSTIN, Texas - The Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center has been activated in response to winter weather.
Austin's Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management is coordinating the response to this event with Travis County officials, other city service departments, and non-governmental organizations.

Critical updates will be posted online here in 14 languages.
Due to the potential forecast calling for rain and lower temperatures on Thursday, Jan. 9, the city will operate 24-hour cold weather sheltering operations beginning Thursday night and continuing into the morning of Friday, Jan. 10.
The Austin-Travis County Emergency Operations Center will remain active until further notice.
