Austin woman creates cookie business while in quarantine
AUSTIN, Texas - Many of us have spent our quarantine in different ways, but one Austin woman had a unique idea.
Like many others when COVID -19 hit, Chelsey Weatherford’s job became inactive. She decided to use the time to take something she loved and turn it into a business.

“I went out to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe,” Weatherford said. “Everyone who knows me knows I am obsessed with cookies.”
Weatherford works in the fitness industry but since March she has been learning what she calls “cookie chemistry.”
She says she can spend up to 11 hours in her kitchen. “I start baking my dough around 11 am that day – then I am not done until almost 8 or 9,” Weatherford said.
Friends and those she knew saw what she was doing and wanted to help.
“Friends of friends started reaching out to me and it got to the point like ‘Okay, we’re starting a cookie business,” she laughed.
You can find her cookies on her website – Cookie Demon Bakery.
