Multiple cars on fire at salvage yard in south Austin: AFD

AUSTIN, Texas - Austin fire crews were on the scene of a fire at a salvage yard in south Austin on Friday.

AFD said several cars were on fire.

The fire started Friday evening, off of Wasson Road near South Congress and East Mockingbird Lane.

The fire was eventually extinguished.

AFD says the cause was accidental. A worker who had been cutting a car accidentally ignited the fire, and wind spread the fire to multiple vehicles.
