TEXAS - 911 lines in Central Texas are returning to normal after experiencing technical difficulties on Sunday, August 4.
According to the City of Austin, callers and call-takers had difficulty hearing each other, missed automatic location information, and technical difficulties caused some calls to be answered by a neighboring jurisdiction.
According to a spokesperson for Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), the technical difficulties with 911 lines were caused by a random Telephony Denial of Service (TDoS) attack.
