Cedar Park murder-suicide
Cedar Park police have identified the man and woman killed in a murder-suicide on April 6.
CEDAR PARK, Texas - Two people are dead after a murder-suicide at a home in Cedar Park.
Cedar Park police responded to a shots fired call around 10:50 p.m. April 6 in the 200 block of Fawnfield Drive near N. Bell Boulevard.
Neighbors say they heard nearly a dozen shots fired.
"We were inside our house, probably about 10:45-10:50 p.m.," said a neighbor. "We heard what we thought were fireworks and rushed outside."

2 dead in Cedar Park possible murder-suicide
Two people are dead in Cedar Park in what police are calling a possible murder-suicide.
When police arrived, they found a woman inside a car parked in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene and has since been identified as 42-year-old Jennifer Diaz.
A shelter in place was issued for surrounding residences and the Central Texas Regional SWAT team was called in. Police say based on the information they had at the time, the possible suspect was believed to be inside the home.
"Everybody was coming over here, they even had their mobile command center, they had about three drones that were out as well and kind of going back and forth," a neighbor said. "This just went on probably to about 2 a.m."

Law enforcement is investigating the shooting deaths of two people in Cedar Park.

Around 1:45 a.m., on April 7, SWAT breached the doorway of the home and found a man dead inside. He has been identified as 37-year-old Chris Molnar.
CPPD confirmed on Monday that its Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
"We have lived in this neighborhood for twenty plus years. We haven't had anything like this happen in a long while, it's a little nerve-racking and scary because this is a very close-knit neighborhood," said a neighbor. "Everybody really knows everybody."
Neighbors say they are saddened by the tragedy in their community.
"I feel sad for the individual that it happened to and the person that ended up doing it as well," a neighbor said. "Nobody should ever result in violence. Again, we don't know what occurred between the two people, but nothing should end in violence like that."
Police believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public.
