CEDAR PARK, Texas - All city parks and trails in Cedar Park are set to close for Easter weekend, says the Parks and Recreation Department.
The parks will be closed at sunset on Thursday, April 9 until sunrise Monday, April 13. The city also says Williamson County has closed the Brushy Creek Regional Trail, which runs alongside some of the city and county parks.

The city says the decision is an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and prevent residents from being exposed during the Easter weekend.
“The decision to close our parks and trails weighed heavily on us. But the health risks are just too great when it comes to the potential of having a large number of people in our parks during Easter weekend," Parks and Recreation director Curt Randa said. "The health and safety of our citizens is our top priority, and by closing our parks and trails we are reducing these points of exposure.”
