Austin weather: Several school districts closing Tuesday ahead of wintry weather
Central Texas school districts monitored weather conditions, and several schools will be closed for Jan. 31.
AUSTIN, Texas - Central Texas school districts are monitoring weather conditions and many have decided to cancel or delay school.
All districts and schools are listed in alphabetical order below.

Austin ISD
All Austin ISD schools and offices will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3.
Staff are addressing issues at schools, and we expect to return to normal schedule Monday, Feb. 6.
Austin International School
Austin International School will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3.
Austin Community College
ACC will reopen Friday, February 3. All classes, work, and college activities & events will resume on their normal schedules at that time.
Bastrop ISD
Bastrop ISD will reopen on Friday, Feb. 3.
Baylor University
Baylor University will extend remote instruction through noon on Thursday, Feb. 2. Normal operations will resume at that time.
Brentwood Christian School
Due to area wide power outages and downed trees, school is canceled for Friday, February 3rd. We will resume with regular school hours on Monday, February 6th.
Burnet CISD
Burnet CISD will remain closed for Thursday, Feb. 2. All campuses will resume a normal schedule for Friday, Feb. 3.
Cedars International Academy
Cedars International Academy is canceling classes for Friday, Feb. 3.
Chaparral Star Academy
Chaparral Star Academy will remain closed for Friday, Feb. 3.
Child Inc. Head Start
Child Inc – Head Start will be closed for Friday, Feb. 3.
Comal ISD
Comal ISD will remain closed Thursday, February 2.
Concordia University
Classes for Friday, Feb. 3 are canceled. Some student activities will resume and students should anticipate communication from their organizations or teams, says the university.
Faculty and staff should communicate with their supervisors about interruptions in their ability to work.
The facilities team is working to remove downed trees from parking lots and walking paths. The IT team is also working to restore network access, including the VPN, internet, and other local resources.

Council Oak Preschool
Council Oak Preschool will remain closed on Thursday, February 2.
Del Valle ISD
Del Valle ISD will remain closed Friday, Feb. 3.
Although Del Valle ISD campuses remain operational, the district is receiving additional reports of intermittent power outages and debris in Travis County.
All schools will reopen on a regular schedule Monday, February 6.
Dime Box ISD
Dime Box School will have a two-hour delayed start for Thursday, February 2. Bus routes and school openings are all delayed by two hours.
Doral Academy of Texas
Doral Academy of Texas will be closed Thursday, February 2. School resumes at regular hours on Friday, February 3.
Dripping Springs ISD
All classes and activities are canceled for Friday, Feb. 3.
Eanes ISD
Eanes ISD will remain closed Friday, Feb. 3.
The district cites lack of power at campuses, with most under a boil water notice, as well as unsafe conditions like fallen trees. Many staff also cannot leave their homes, meaning a staff shortage.
Fortunately, Eanes ISD does not anticipate students will have to make up these lost calendar days.
The district says it will take these next few days to repair, restore and make campuses safe for return on Monday.
Elgin ISD
Elgin ISD schools and facilities will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3. All extracurricular and after-school activities will be canceled as well.
As a result of the winter storm, Elgin ISD is experiencing power outages at several facilities, and downed power lines and trees are causing concerns over access to campuses. Phones and internet are also down across the district.
District maintenance staff will continue the clean-up process across the district.
Flatonia ISD
Flatonia ISD will resume regular school schedule on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Founders Classical Academy of Leander
Founders Classical Academy of Leander will remain closed for Friday, Feb. 3.
Georgetown ISD
Georgetown ISD will reopen Friday, Feb. 3 and operate on a two-hour delay.
School state times and bus pick-up times will be delayed by two hours from the normal schedule.
Gonzales ISD
Gonzales ISD will be delayed two hours on all campuses on Thursday, February 2.

Due to severe weather conditions, Granger ISD schools will remain closed on February 2.
Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas
Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas announces no school on February 2.
Hays CISD
All Hays CISD schools and offices will be back on a normal schedule Friday, Feb. 3. All of its schools have power and the roads are cleared enough to operate safely.
The district is advising families to be careful during their morning commutes and to make decisions that are best for them as there may be some residual storm issues.
Headwaters School
Headwaters School will be closed on February 2.
Huston-Tillotson University
Huston-Tillotson University's campus will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3. Classes will resume online and begin at their regularly scheduled times. All faculty and staff will continue to work remotely.
Hutto ISD
Hutto ISD will remain closed Friday, Feb. 3.
IDEA Public Schools Greater Austin Region
IDEA Public Schools Greater Austin Region has officially canceled all school operations (including after school) for Friday Feb. 3.
They do plan on opening campuses back to normal operations for Monday, Feb. 6.
International School of Texas
The International School of Texas has canceled classes for Friday, Feb. 3.
Johnson City ISD
Johnson City ISD has canceled all classes for February 2 due to continuing dangerous winter weather conditions.
Killeen ISD
Killeen ISD will keep campus and district buildings closed on February 2.
KIPP Texas-Austin Schools
Due to continued power outages from the winter storm, all KIPP Texas-Austin schools will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3.

Lago Vista ISD
Lago Vista ISD will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 2 due to inclement weather conditions. All schools and offices will also be closed.
Lake Travis ISD
Lake Travis ISD says all classes are canceled for Friday, Feb. 3. Some after-school activities may resume in the afternoon.
Leander ISD
All Leander ISD classes are canceled Friday, Feb. 3. Authorized events will be allowed on a limited basis on Friday and over the weekend.
The district anticipates resuming a normal schedule Monday, Feb. 6.
Llano ISD
Llano ISD will remain closed, Thursday, February 2.
Lockhart ISD
Lockhart ISD will remain closed, Thursday, February 2. The district will return to normal operations Friday, Feb. 3.
Manor ISD
All Manor ISD campuses and administrative offices will remain closed, Friday, Feb. 3. The district anticipates returning to normal operations Monday, Feb. 6.
Marble Falls ISD
Marble Falls ISD will reopen Friday, Feb. 3 and schools will be on a normal schedule.
Pflugerville ISD
All PfISD schools will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Rockdale ISD
Due to continued power outages in the area, Rockdale ISD classes have been canceled for Friday, Feb. 3.
Round Rock ISD
Due to continued power outages at campuses, all Round Rock ISD classes and before and after school activities are canceled for Friday, Feb. 3. All schools and offices will be closed.
San Marcos CISD
San Marcos CISD campuses and offices will be closed on Thursday, February 2. Friday, February 3, will remain a Parent Community Day (student holiday).
Smithville ISD
Smithville ISD will delay start time for Thursday, February 2 by two hours.
St. Edward's University
St. Edward's will remain closed through Friday, Feb. 3 with essential staff reporting to campus.
All classes and activities are canceled, including virtual classes/remote work.
Dining and coffee venues will be open on an adjusted schedule. Warming and charging centers continue to have power and are available in Moody Hall and Ragsdale Center. The university says it is also working diligently to restore on-campus wifi.
Southwestern University
Southwestern University will remain closed on Friday, Feb. 3.
Taylor ISD
Taylor ISD will be closed on Friday, Feb. 3.
Texas School for the Deaf
TSD will operate on a normal schedule.
The school says there are no power outages, water problems or downed trees on campus.
Texas State Technical College
Texas State Technical College in East Williamson County in Hutto will remain closed for Thursday, February 2, due to severe winter weather.
Campus offices will be closed, but staff are available for virtual services. Virtual learning will continue for students
Texas State University
On Thursday, Feb. 2, the San Marcos and Round Rock campuses will delay opening until noon. All classes are canceled until noon on Feb. 2.
Thrall ISD
Thrall ISD will cancel school on Thursday, Feb. 2, due to continuing weather conditions and power issues.
School is scheduled for normal start time of 8 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 3.
University of Texas at Austin
UT Austin facilities, except the LBJ Wildflower Center, will resume normal operations Friday, Feb 3, at 6:00 a.m. with great flexibility to allow for storm recovery.
Where possible, employees will work remotely barring storm-related circumstances. Essential staff report to campus as scheduled.

Valor Education campuses (Valor South Austin, Valor North Austin, and Valor Kyle) will be closed on Friday, Feb. 3.
Veritas Academy
Veritas Academy will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 2.
Wimberley ISD
Wimberley ISD will remain closed on Thursday, Feb. 2.
