Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade to close downtown area streets

Several streets will be closed in the downtown area on November 28 due to the annual Chuy's Children Giving to Children Parade. Drivers are urged to use extra caution in the area due to high pedestrian traffic and the number of small children attending the parade.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. with street closures starting as early as 6 a.m.

Streets are expected to reopen at around 2 p.m.

Complete road closures starting at 6 a.m. include San Jacinto Boulevard and East 15th through 10th Streets.

The Ann Richards/Congress Avenue Bridge closes at 8 a.m.

All other street closures begin at 9 a.m. and include Congress between 11th Street.

Cross town traffic will be allowed on 5th and 6th Streets until 9 a.m. and on Cesar Chavez Street until 10 a.m.

Towing will be strictly enforced on Congress Avenue from Cesar Chavez to 11th Street. All meters will be bagged and signs posted.
