City of Austin activates cold weather shelters
AUSTIN, Texas - Cold weather shelters have been activated in Austin for tonight. Temperatures are expected to go into the lower thirties tonight, according to FOX 7 meteorologist Zack Shields.
Single adult men or women needing shelter are directed to report to the ARCH by 5:15 p.m.
Families in need of shelter should report to the Salvation Army by 7 p.m.
The City of Austin Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) is reminding residents to dress in layers, limit exposure outside, and look out for people or pets who might be in need. Check the four P’s – people, pets, plants, and pipes.
