City of Austin cleaning homeless camps, releases 20 locations

Recently, the City of Austin began cleaning up homeless camps around Austin's watershed as part of a $250,000 year long contract. 

The City of Austin's Watershed Protection Department has released a list of sites that the city plan's on cleaning over the next year.

According to city officials, the number of homeless camps planned on being cleaned this year is flexible, but after a large fire erupted at a homeless camp in Northeast Austin, city officials say that that they may add another to the list. 

So far there are 20 locations on the city's list.

Officials consider next steps after homeless camp fire

A fire broke out a large homeless camp and it has officials considering what to do next. FOX 7 Austin's Shannon Ryan has more.

City officials have since released the list of sites that the city plan on cleaning. The sites are subject to change.
