City of Austin waives parking fees for those who get sober ride home
AUSTIN, Texas - The City of Austin will waive any parking tickets for those in Austin who decide to take an alternative ride home instead of getting behind the wheel intoxicated.
According to the City of Austin's website, anyone who parks at a city meter and decides to take a rideshare, taxi, or public transit to get home rather than drive under the influence can get their parking ticket waived.
People who get ticketed must fill out a ticket waiver form and bring it to the Parking Operations Division located at 1111 Rio Grande Street alongside their ticket and receipt of a ride home.
