Dolly Parton visits Hurricane Helene victims near her hometown; donates $2M to relief efforts

null - Country stars Luke Combs and Eric Church have teamed up with fellow North Carolinian James Taylor to headline Concert for Carolina, a fundraiser for victims of Hurricane Helene.
The star-studded benefit show will also feature performances by Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and other acts who haven’t been named yet.

"The Tar Heel State is a profoundly special place for [these] artists, as it is where Combs, Church and Taylor grew up and first discovered their musical interests, and where Strings has performed many, many times over his career and holds an extra special place in his heart," organizers said in a news release.

All proceeds from the event, including sponsorships, will be split 50/50 between Combs and Church's Chief Cares Foundation. Combs, who grew up in Asheville, plans to distribute his funds to Samaritan’s Purse, Manna Food Bank and Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC, and more.

"Church's Chief Cares is focused on helping established charities and organizations that are well managed, organized and can expedite aid directly to the families affected by Hurricane Helene," organizers said.
When and where is Concert for Carolina?
Concert for Carolina will take place Saturday, Oct. 26 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina.

It’s being presented by Explore Asheville and Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority.
Concert for Carolina tickets
Concert for Carolina tickets are available now at concertforcarolina.com. According to Ticketmaster prices listed Thursday afternoon, hours after tickets went on sale, standard admission was $245, while Platinum charity tickets were going for $2,000.

North Carolina disaster relief following Hurricane Helene
Hurricane Helene recovery continues across the southeastern portion of the United States. It’s the worst storm to hit the U.S. mainland since Katrina in 2005. Non-profits, such as Operation Blessing, are responding with aid deliveries and other assistance. Diego Traverso, Director of International Disaster Relief, joins LiveNOW from FOX.
For people who can’t attend the concert but still want to support the cause, donations can be made now to The North Carolina Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund or to various organizations listed on the Concert for Carolina website.
