AUSTIN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the intersection of West Slaughter Lane and Manchaca Road in South Austin on Sunday for a car crash. At least five people needed to be transported following the collision. Drivers should expect delays in the area.
According to Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services, first responders in multiple ambulance units responded to the intersection after 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 3.
At least two patients were declared trauma alerts. A pediatric female was brought to Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas and an adult male was brought to St. David's South Austin Medical Center, both with potentially serious injuries. Three other patients were also transported to St. David's South Austin Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
It is unclear at this time what led up to the collision or how many vehicles were involved.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area and find alternate routes.
