'Major collision' shuts down FM 973 near Tesla Road: TCSO

TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas - Southbound FM 973 in eastern Travis County is open again Monday afternoon after a "major collision," officials say.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene of the crash on FM 973 near Tesla Road just after 3 p.m. 

TCSO warned drivers that the road would be closed for an extended period of time, and then reported less than an hour later that southbound FM 973 was open again. 

Drivers are still advised to watch out for first responders working on scene.
