'Critical incident' in downtown Austin cleared: ATCEMS

AUSTIN, Texas - The "critical incident" in downtown Austin is no longer an active scene, says ATCEMS.

ATCEMS reported the situation just before 3:30 p.m. Dec. 6 on X, and later confirmed to FOX 7 Austin the scene had been cleared as of 6:30 p.m.

There were no details shared as to what the incident is, but ATCEMS said there was no threat to the public.

The incident occurred at 5th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard, near the Westin Austin Downtown hotel.
