Deadly crash in Bastrop County

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas - Bastrop County officials say a deadly crash has shut down roads in the area.

Details of the crash are still not known but the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management says that the 1600 block of US 290 eastbound and one westbound lane between Old Highway 20 and McAcres are shut down.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area and consider alternate routes if possible.

Officials urge drivers to be mindful of emergency vehicles responding to the scene.
